[Travel] Trend Korea by Explore Seoul, Gangwon, Gyeonggi & Jeju Island on November 2017 (Day 6)

by - Wednesday, January 17, 2018

On the sixth day, we're starting our tour on 09:30 am after a simple breakfast at the hotel. In the morning, it's raining a little bit. We're headed to the Daepo Jusangjeolli Cliffs (주상절리(대포동지삿개)). If you follow the farm road about 600m to the southwest from Daepo-dong, at the end of the pine tree forest is a cliff. At the base of this cliff is the Jisatgae Coast along with the imposing stone pillars.

Jusangjeolli is store pillars piled up along the coast and are a designated cultural monument of Jeju Island. Jusangjeolli Cliff was formed when the lava from Hallasan Mountain erupted into the sea of Jungmun. They are rock pillars shaped like cubes or hexagons of various sizes and almost seem as if stonemasons had carved them out.

The administration of the district named them ‘Jisatgae Rocks' from their old name ‘Jisatgae'. The 20m cliff makes it a popular spot for high tide and sea angling. The waves of the high tide crashing into the side of the cliff provide a breathtaking view of the ocean surrounding the pillars. The entrance fee for the adult is KRW 2,000 (RM 7.60).

Before I forget, I was trying another food street in this area; which is octopus grilled. I totally forget what the name in Korean and the price is KRW 3,000 (RM 11.40). This part of the octopus is it long legs only. The taste is delicious with the sauce.

Address: 216, Jungmungwangwang-ro, Seogwipo-si, Jeju-do (제주특별자치도 서귀포시 중문관광로 216 (중문동)).

Then, we're moving to the Play K-Pop Museum (플레이케이팝) that just nearby with the Daepo Jusangjeolli Cliffs. Jeju Jungmun Resort presents the digital theme park "PLAY K-POP' where new media technology and K-Pop music meet together. The Live Hologram Concert gives more excitement than an actual live concert. Its have the schedule of Live Hologram Concert; just wait the time for the concert. Even during I visit this place, its have the Awake G-Dragon Live Hologram Concert.

The operation hours are from 09:00 am until 19:00 pm on every day. The last admission is 1 hour before closing. The entrance fee for adult is KRW 15,000 (RM 57.00), but I have coupon 20% discount from DKYW 2017 (Discovery Korea Your Way 2017 Booklet from Korea Tourism Organization – it's free and I get it in KTO Malaysia before I go to Korea); which mean I get the price is KRW 12,000 (RM 45.60).

The available facilities in here are Live Hologram Concerts, Live 360 3D, K-Pop History Zone, Meet the Star Zone, and Be the Start Zone. I think if you play all things, you can spend time in here almost 5 hours. It's fun to play with your friend and family.

Address: 15, Jungmungwangwang-ro, 11Obeng-gil, Seogwipo-si, Jeju-do (제주특별자치도 서귀포시 중문관광로110번길 15 (색달동)).

Just in front of the Play K-Pop Museum has Yellow Café; which is the most famous drink in Korea – Banana Milk (바나나 우유) in Jeju Island. Everything in this café is yellow and it's related to the banana milk. Even the miniature world also have related to banana milk. It looks so cute.

For your information, the surrounding of this area also has Hello Kitty Island. But since we do not have enough time so we can't visit there. Maybe, next time when I go to Jeju Island again.

Then we're proceeded to go the Orange Farm. Since its still autumn seasons so it's also the season of orange in Jeju Island. Most of the farm in Jeju Island is the orange farm. I didn't know where the farm located but this farm full of oranges. I never miss taking the photos.

Did you know, you can't eat orange direct from the tree? It's because the orange has to keep around 2 weeks to 4 weeks after picking orange so the orange flavor will become sweet rather you eat direct after you picking the orange from the tree and the taste is a little bit bitter and sour too.

After that, we're going to eat lunch at Yongmeori Coast area. They give us the grilled fish. Just a simple lunch.

Then we're going to Yongmeori Coast os as Yongmeori Beach (용머리해안). Yongmeori Beach is a place where Mt. Sanbangsan stretches into the ocean and it looks as if a dragon's head is going underwater. This area is made of Sa-am stacks, built up over millions of years. There are Gulbangs here which are depressed into the shape of rooms, and wide rocks stacking up on one another along the seashore cliff which creates majestic scenery by the sea.

Along the road down to the seashore, there is the Hamel Castaway Memorial, in remembrance of Hamel who drifted to this place in 1653. Just off to the right of the beach is a soft and dark sandy beach. You can meet women sea-divers of Jeju who sell sea cucumbers and stroll on the road the spreads along the seashore.

The entrance fee for adult is KRW 1,000 (RM 3.80). This place is open all the days but the operations hours are subject to change. It's depending on the weather condition. It's because when it's raining the stone is slippery and it is may dangerous to you.

For my opinion, this place is not suitable for old people or who have knee pain. It's because the stairs are the nature store and its height is not same with another stone so it's may be dangerous for you to going down there. You need extra careful while you want to visit this place.

Address: 218-10, Sanbang-ro, Andeok-myeon, Seogwipo-si, Jeju-do (제주특별자치도 서귀포시 안덕면 산방로 218-10 (안덕면)).

Next location is the O'sulloc Tea Museum Café (오설록 티뮤지엄) and Innisfree House Jeju Café (이니스프리 제주하우스). These two places are just close to each other so you can visit two places at one time. O'sulloc Tea Museum is located next to O'sulloc's Seogwang Tea Plantation in Jeju. It's was the first tea museum opened by Amore Pacific in 2001 with the aim of introducing and spreading Korean teas and the traditional tea culture of Korea.

The operation hours are from 09:00 am until 18:00 pm. The hours are subject to change depending on heavy rain or snow. As you know, the O'sulloc Tea Museum is just beside the Innisfree House Jeju (이니스프리 제주하우스). So you can visit both places when you are going to Jeju Island.

We're taking chance to taste the special desserts at the O'sulloc Tea Museum Café; another word we're just taking a high-tea. My mom and sister take the order of Set A; which are Green Tea Ice-cream, Green Tea Cake, and Green Tea Ice Blended. The price is KRW 17,000 (RM 64.60). The taste is harmony for me since the grebe tea's favor is not too strong and just nice. It's delicious.

Address: 15, Sinhwayeoksa-ro, Andeok-nyeon, Seogwipo-si, Jeju-do (제주특별자치도 서귀포시 안덕면 신화역사로 15).

Innisfree is a natural brand that embodies the natural beauty of clean Jeju Island. Before this, I get chance to visit the Innisfree Green Café at Myeongdong, Seoul so this time I visit another branch at Jeju Island as know as Innisfree House Jeju Café (이니스프리 제주하우스). The different of the place are the visitors can experience everything about the brand with a variety of activities that satisfy the five senses, as well as spending a relaxing time surrounded by the beautiful nature on Jeju Island.

The operation hours of summer are on 09:00 am until 19:00 pm and during winter time is at 09:00 am until 18:00 pm. (hours are subject to change at any time). This store is open all year round, that means its open all day.

Innisfree Jeju House was built to preserve the natural environment of the area. They can feel as they become part of nature while they enjoy Innisfree's cosmetics made with quality ingredients harvested from Jeju, as well as organic food made with fresh local ingredients. The interior of this store is almost same with the store I went at Myeongdong. But I don't have the chance to taste the meal in this store since we feel full after hangout at the O'sulloc Green Tea Museum Café so I can't give any review about the menu of this café.

Address: 425, Sinhwayeoksa-ro, Andeok-myeong, Seogwipo-si, Jeju-do (제주특별자치도 서귀포시 안덕면 신화역사로 425).

Extra information, close to this area has Jeju Shinwa Resort so it's easy to visit another place in one day. Just plan your day wonderfully when you're traveling to Jeju Island.

That all the places I have been visited on the sixth day in Jeju Island. We're straight going back to the hotel and eat our dinner at our hotel. The journey is taken almost 1 hour.
